5 Bankroll Management Tips for New Players
Published on May 12, 2026 · Tim Editorial
Before discussing game strategy, we need to talk about the foundation: bankroll. Disciplined money management matters more than any game theory.
1. Set a Daily Limit
Decide upfront how much you're willing to spend in a single day. When the limit is hit, stop — no negotiating with yourself.
2. Separate Your Playing Money
Use a dedicated bank account or e-wallet for play. Never mix with your savings or emergency fund.
3. Track Every Session
Log win/loss per session. Patterns after a week tell you more than one spectacular session ever could.
4. Stop-Loss & Stop-Win
Stop-loss: quit if you lose X% of bankroll. Stop-win: quit if you win X% — winning euphoria is more dangerous than losing.
5. Only Play Money You Can Lose
The golden rule: never deposit money you need for something else.
